Paisley pub back on the market

The owners of Rafferty's, a pub in the West End of Paisley, Scotland, are to sell the business for an initial guide price of £110,000. The owners hope that the sale will help to rejuvenate the distressed business.

Rafferty’s in Wellmeadow Street was put out of business in 2014 after a series of complaints to police.

The pub is being marketed by Future Property Solutions, which claims that the asking price is less than a quarter of what it sold for in 2010 because the owners have stated their desire for a 'quick sale'.

An online description of the business reads: “Priced for a fast sale with rental potential of up to £30,000 per annum. Formed within the ground and first floor of a two storey mid-terraced building.

“1,800 square feet bar/restaurant with beer garden and conservatory with large upper two bedroom flat. Was sold for £445,813 in April 2010.”

Rafferty's was closed down in 2014 because licensing chiefs found a series of 'serious management and operational failings', and noted that the conduct of the management and staff had 'fallen far short of the standards expected.'

The pub was investigated by police around 95 times during 2014 alone, with a series of incidents prompting concern from Paisley police chiefs.
