Ilkeston pub for sale

An Ilkeston pub is to be put up for sale by auction later this month, with a guide price of £240,000.

The General Havelock, located in Stanton Road, has been put on the market by its current owners due to their ill health.

It is being offered for sale with vacant possession and offers an interesting opportunity for someone new to step up and run The General Havelock themselves.

Graham Penny, the auctioneer behind the pub sale, spoke to the Nottingham Post: “The General Havelock is a beautifully designed and restored building and will make an excellent business for new owners, as well as a home if necessary, as there is a four-bedroomed apartment to the first floor.”

A total of £200,000 worth of renovation work has taken place on the property including a complete rewiring and re-plumbing. This has included replacing the central heating and ensuring that a full fire alarm system is working throughout.

The auction will take place at Graham Penny Auctions on Thursday, 22 October.
