Description
We are considering the sale of our home based travel agency. The company was established in May 2006 and was initially a part time operation to provide us with additional income. The company operates from home selling flights, hotels, package holidays and cruises from almost every UK tour operator. We recently had a state of the art website designed for the company which allows travellers to book online. We have trading accounts with almost every tour operator and cruise operator and we are fully bonded and protected. The business requires someone who is able to commit more hours to it. We trade via teletext, newspaper advertising and online. With some good advertising behind the company, this is a great opportunity. The purchaser would have to have some travel experience. Although full support is available from the existing owners and all suppliers. The cruise market for the company is picking up and this is a great area to expand on. Our advice would be for the purchaser to continue the marketing of the website as it is exceptional and functions better than most large tour operators. We run the business part time and really have only been trading when we wanted to. We actively traded for 9 weeks last year - by this I mean advertised and our turn over was £69k. This year we have had more advertising and more time dedicated and have landed some very large bookings bringing our expected turn over to between £150k and £200k. We have a full client database and all systems required to run the company as well as repeat bookers and two large groups. (1st is work £77k booking 2nd is about 55 pax)
