.In the 1960s, Chris Barber, The Temperance Seven, Kenny Ball, Lonnie Donegan, Acker Bilk all had number one hits. Terry Lightfoot was also in the hit parade. We have lots of albums of these wonderful jazz guys. These albums are the mainstay of our catalogue. The first and second Temperance Seven albums for example have sold in excess of 4000 units each and continue to sell well. We have all the British Jazz greats on our label - as mentioned above - but also including Alex Welsh, George Melly, George Chisholm. We also have great American musicians like Jimmy Rushing in unique recordings by Joe Meek with Humphrey Lyttelton, Vic Lewis, Sydney Bechet, Kid Ory, George Lewis. Louis Armstrong, Joe Turner - the list is endless and reads like a WHO'S WHO OF JAZZ. We also have the complete history of British Traditional Jazz as mirrored by BBC recordings from the 1950s to the 1970s. No other record company has anything to compare with this. Cliff Richard is an incredible HIT ARTIST and we have one unique track of him singing a love duet with Helen Hobson from their Heathcliffe days. EMI did show interest in having this track as a "B" side or equivalent to one of Cliff's hits a few years ago. There is huge potential here and just this one track alone, which we own, could bring in the amount of money that we're selling the record company for - in the right hands. Classical artists don't have hits as such, although we have Carlos Bonell, guitar, who is currently helping Sir Paul McCartney with his guitar concerto - which will be a classical hit. We have three albums featuring Carlos. The Private Collection (URCD145) , Richard Baker's Favourite Guitar Music (URCD140) and also The Carlos Bonell Ensemble (classical crossover) (URCD128). Carey Blyton, author of the celebrated children's icon Bananas in Pyjamas, chose URZ Co as his preferred record company for what we consider to be his best works all of his choral music, his song repertoire, his chamber music and an unique, quirky album Sherlock Holmes Meets Dr Who (URCD148). Gary James, one of our artists for whom we own all the publishing has enormous potential with his songs - a mixture of pop/folk - a quasi twenty first century Bob Dylan. There is tremendous room for exploitation in compilation albums alone, across the classical, showbiz and jazz worlds. Of course we have Sherlock Holmes Meets Dr Who - a quirky album with huge cult potential that has not yet been reached. We also own some Dr Who material on the publishing side. The BBC has been preparing to release all the Dr Who material and our owned titles are in the planning stages.Full and better particulars can be obtained on receipt of a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement.
