I opened a small Dry Cleaning business in Penarth in 2001 my partner runs the business, she has 1 full time member of staff and 1 part time member of staff, the main business activities are Dry Cleaning, Ironing service (Not black bag service but a per item service), a garment alteration service and a professional express shirt service which involves the washing and Ironing of shirts. This business would suit a couple, and although the business earns between £1000 to £1800 every week as regular as clock work, if the Carpet & upholstery cleaning service was reintroduced it would ad a minimum of £1000 per week to the takings. That isn't the only avenue for increasing the business, my partner is asked at least once or twice a week, every week, if she would consider offering a home cleaning service, however, due to the fact that she does not drive, she has been unable to expand the business into this sector. Books for the past 7 years are available. The reason for selling the business is simply that my business will mean moving to the USA. All equipment including professional steam Irons with boilers, Washing and Drying machines, Dry cleaning Machinery, the shop is fully fitted out and is a running business, if someone bought the business today they could be making money today, all fixtures and fitting would also be included in the sale, we would even include the till.
